Dr. Darrelle Knight Marbury was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Garlan Gudger to serve on the Alabama Board of Pharmacy in the Institutional seat for a three-year term beginning in 2026.
Dr. Marbury graduated from Xavier University College of Pharmacy in 2002. Following graduation, she began her pharmacy career at Gordon Park Hospital in Mississippi. She later practiced in Alabama at Children’s of Alabama, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, and Carraway Methodist Medical Center, gaining extensive experience in hospital pharmacy operations and interdisciplinary care.
In 2008, Dr. Marbury joined NaphCare,Inc., where she has held progressive leadership roles within institutional pharmacy practice. She currently serves as Chief Pharmacist, providing oversight of pharmacy operations in correctional facilities across multiple states. Her work focuses on advancing pharmacy practice models, designing operational workflows to align with regulatory compliance, optimizing workflow systems, and modernizing medication-use processes in complex healthcare environments.
Dr. Marbury has been actively involved in pharmacy education and professional mentorship. She has served as a preceptor for student pharmacists from Auburn University, Samford University, and Creighton University, mentoring future pharmacists in clinical excellence and professional leadership. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and remains committed to service, leadership, and the continued advancement of the pharmacy profession.
