Brandon Hicks, a native of Pleasant Grove, Alabama was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey for a 5-year term beginning in January of 2025. He replaces Dr Christy Garmon in the Chain pharmacy seat. Dr. Hicks began his first pharmacy job at age 17 at Weldon Pharmacy in Hueytown, AL. He immediately recognized the vital role pharmacists have in serving the healthcare needs of the people within his local community. Brandon continued his pharmacy career working as an intern at a local independent pharmacy while attending Pharmacy school and graduated from Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2010.
He and his wife Cayla, a fellow pharmacist, currently reside in Auburn and are both pharmacy managers for two of their local Publix Pharmacies. Brandon started with Publix in 2012 and has managed numerous Publix locations including Montgomery and Phenix City. He served as an immunization ambassador for Publix educating pharmacy staff on best practices for engaging the community and providing vaccines in the pharmacy setting.
Brandon is a member of the Alabama Pharmacy Association, and also serves as a Harrison College of Pharmacy affiliate faculty preceptor.
